Norwegian has announced plans to relaunch its loyalty programme this spring, with new benefits including free tea and coffee inflight for the most frequent flyers.
Norwegian Reward members will receive a new benefit for every eighth flight taken within 12 months, with the first being 2 per cent extra CashPoints on flight bookings.
On the completion of the next eight flights they will be able to choose from a range of benefits, including free overhead cabin baggage, free checked baggage, fast track security or an additional 2 per cent extra CashPoints.
In addition those members taking more than 32 flights within a 12-month period “will have access to all benefits in the Reward programme”, as well as new ones which will be rolled out during the spring.
Norwegian said that an example of the new benefits for the most frequent travellers would include free coffee and tea on board flights with catering, as well as priority boarding, no expiry date on CashPoints and priority customer service.
The revamped programme will take effect from March 28.
Members will continue to earn CashPoints when flying with Norwegian, making a purchase with one of Norwegian Reward’s partners, or using the Norwegian credit card.
Base CashPoints are awarded according to ticket type, from 1 per cent on LowFare tickets, up to 5 per cent on Flex tickets.
One CashPoint equates to one Norwegian krone, and balances can be used to pay in full or part for flight tickets, or redeemed against ancillary items including checked baggage, seat reservations and pre-booked meals.

“More and more business travellers are choosing to fly with Norwegian. This customer group particularly appreciates our punctuality and regularity. That is why we are now introducing exclusive benefits for our most frequent flyers.
“Our aim is to offer comfortable, seamless, and efficient journeys. We are looking forward to rolling out the new benefits during the spring.”
Norwegian abandoned its long-haul services in 2021 as part of a business restructure, and now focuses on a short-haul route network.
In June last year the carrier reached an agreement with Boeing to order 50 B737 Max 8 aircraft.
