Novak Djokovic recently won his seventh Wimbledon title after winning against Australian tennis star Nick Kygrios. Although the news is all the rage today, Kygrios made headlines last week for his footwear choices.

According to Wimbledon, players must wear tennis attire that is almost entirely white, which doesn’t allow cream or off-white. However, Kygrios arrived in Air Jordan 1 Lows in red (or “Cardinal” Red/Gold). When asked why he violated the rules, the 27-year-old said it’s because he does what he wants, “I just like wearing my Jordans.”

He continued that he doesn’t think he’s above the rules and would wear Jordan Triple Whites the next day. While tennis fans raged on social media, saying he should be fined, we took this opportunity to make some good old shopping recommendations.

While Kygrios could have sported some of these pairs without backlash, we’ve included some with subtle color details. After all, it’s for a well-curated sneaker rotation, not a professional tennis match.

To the big Nike fans, don’t worry. Your fellow sneakerheads will recognize your sporting Air Maxes, even without the color blocking.

Other than UGG’s recognizable sheepskin boot, they also have sneakers. The Cahvlan can serve as an easy everyday piece, slip them on, and you’re ready for the day. Similar to their boots, the pair uses the brand’s signature Twinface sheepskin leather that is treated on both sides to provide comfort.
