United's new Club lounge at Chicago O’Hare

United Airlines has opened a new Club lounge at Chicago O’Hare’s Terminal 1.

The 1,600 sqm facility is located close to gate C10 in the terminal, and is double the size of the lounge it replaces, with seating for over 400 guests.

Features include areas for lounging, dining, relaxing, working and socializing, with décor including Chicago-sourced furniture and handcrafted artwork from local artists, including a statement mural by local artist Kate Lewis.

Additional artwork will be added in the coming weeks, including “a jet bridge wrap with graphic patterns created from manipulated photographs by Bob Faust”.

Facilities include free high-speed wifi, self-scan entry e-gates, Agent on Demand kiosks enabling guests to video chat, text or call a customer service representative, and a wellness space “for nursing parents or travellers looking to meditate or pray”.

The new lounge is part of an ongoing programme to renovate and introduce new United Club locations, and follows the opening of the largest Club lounge in the carrier’s network last year, located near gate C123 in Newark airport’s Terminal C3.

The new Chicago Club lounge is the latest in a series changes at the airport, with Delta switching from Terminal 2 to Terminal 5 late last year, and opening a new Sky Club lounge between gates M11 and M14.
