The Nest is a three-property hideaway in the countryside, near the limestone market town of Stamford. (Two hours by car from London, for those looking to escape the arid city for a minibreak.) Set in acres of lush green land, it’s glamping but without the clichéd additions of bell tents, fairy lights and bunting.

Instead, there are canvas cabins styled on Kenyan safari lodges, with free-standing baths, beds made up with White Company linen, a stylish wood burner and a Chesterfield sofa (forget the disposable barbecue and fold-away chair). And best of all? The cabins come with a vast private lake.

Seclusion is king. The cabins are spaced well away from each other, each facing out onto an expanse of lake – and all three (they sleep up to six) can be hired together for a larger group.

There’s a plethora of wildlife to see: herons, badgers, deer, fields heaving with butterflies as you wander along paths mown into a field of long grass.
