Laden with bags, William took the lead as Kate followed behind with Princess Charlotte. Sporting a wide-brimmed sunhat and flowing white dress, the duchess appeared suitably dressed for the holiday. The family are rumoured to be heading to the private island of Mustique, near St Vincent and the Grenadines, having not visited since 2019 due to Covid-19 restrictions. It’s long been a favourite of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and on their last visit to the island, they celebrated Prince George’s sixth birthday there. The royal couple, who recently visited the Caribbean in February for an official royal tour, will finally be able to enjoy the island’s beauty in a relaxed capacity, away from royal pressures.

In addition to the children, the pair are bringing their adorable cocker spaniel, Orla, on the trip. The dog recently accompanied the Duchess of Cambridge to watch Prince William play in the Royal Charity Polo match in Windsor last week. The furry friend sat patiently beside Kate as she supported her husband from the sidelines, nursing a glass of Pimm’s.

Prince William travelling in helicopters is reportedly a worry for Her Majesty, who has apparently discouraged him from flying in the same plane as his son George in the past, although this is not confirmed.

According to the Mail Online, unofficial rules usually prevent senior royals from flying together, but regulations regarding the tradition have relaxed since Prince George’s birth, allowing for the family to spend more time together.

The duke and duchess’s getaway comes weeks before they prepare to move their family into their new home on the Windsor estate this summer. George, Charlotte, and Louis, will leave Thomas’s Battersea in wake of the move, and start school locally when the new academic term begins in September.
