“Blue gives other colors their vibration,” the painter Paul Cézanne once said. By this logic, the actor Steven Yeun is positively buzzing.

Yeun, back on the promo circuit for the first time since his Academy Award-nominated performance in Minari (2020), has just begun making the rounds for his role in Jordan Peele’s upcoming horror-thriller Nope. And while any Peele production is sure to be a hell of a ride, the actor kept his usual even keel for his Tuesday appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, at least by way of his two different but equally easygoing navy-blue outfits.

He sported a breezy woven navy jacket that looked like a cross between a blazer and a chore coat (this Drake’s linen jacket offers a similar silhouette) with matching trousers en route to the studio, before swapping out the jacket for a luxe navy polo sweater that sure looks a lot like this Zegna pullover for the taping. And no surprise here: the man looks amazing in navy blue.

Turns out Yeun—a longtime low-key, off-kilter dresser whose knack for pulling off roomy suits dates back well before they became cool again—soft-launched what should absolutely be his signature color months ago, wearing a short-sleeve navy sweater and coordinating trousers at a screening in Manhattan back in the fall. Sure, navy blue may not seem like a big jump for this adept style minimalist, but somehow Yeun makes it seem revolutionary.
