RwandAir has received its third long-haul aircraft, allowing the carrier to continue focusing on its route expansion.

The A330-200, registered 9XR-WX, was delivered to the carrier’s Kigali hub last weekend.

Configured with 30 seats in business class and 222 seats in economy, the widebody aircraft will be operated to London, Brussels, Lagos and Dubai.

The African carrier launched a four-times-weekly direct service from Kigali to London Heathrow last November, operated by a two-class A330 aircraft.

The additional A330 brings RwandAir’s fleet to 13, consisting of three long-haul, one freighter and nine short-haul aircraft.

Last year RwandAir confirmed that it is exploring the possibility of joining the Oneworld alliance, prompted by the airline’s strategic partnership with Oneworld member Qatar Airways.
