Spread the love

Following the release of the series, which broke records for being the most streamed Netflix show ever in 2020, Page issued a statement saying: ‘It’s been an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be your Duke. Joining this family — not just on screen, but off-screen too. Our incredibly creative and generous cast, crew, outstanding fans – it’s all been beyond anything I could have imagined. The love is real and will just keep growing.’

While Page did not return for the second series, his on-screen wife, played by Phoebe Dynevor, had a small role. The sophomore season focused on the romantic exploits of the eldest Bridgerton sibling, Anthony, Viscount Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), as he became entangled in a love triangle with two sisters, Kate and Edwina Sharma (played by Simone Ashley and Charithra Chandran).

The next series of the period drama will deviate from the order of the Bridgerton books by Julia Quinn and focus primarily on the romantic endeavours of the third Bridgerton sibling, Colin, played by Luke Newton, and his relationship with Penelope Featherington, played by Nicola Coughlan.
