The New Watches
The new models are instilled with the iconic Seiko Astron look. They also have all of the great functionalities of this collection making them practical as well as stylish. The watches all have day and date functions with a perpetual calendar, ensuring the wearer is always perfectly on time. The power reserve indicator informs the wearer of the battery level so it never needs to run out. The watches also have a world time and time transfer function among many more. All of these features are powered by a 5X53 movement that is accurate to +/- 15 seconds per month.
The watches are available with a silver dial (SSH107J1), blue dial (SSH109J1) or black dial (SSH111J1). Seiko has also launched a limited edition version (SSH113J1) of the new Seiko Astron Solar GPS chronograph watches. This version exhibits a striped silver dial and each model is engraved with a unique serial number. This limited edition was released to mark the 10-year anniversary of the world’s first GPS solar watch that was built by Seiko. There are only 1000 models worldwide.
The dial of each model exhibits three sub-dials and a date aperture. The many features of the timepieces can be viewed and controlled using the details on the dial. The hands and indices are treated with Lumibrite to ensure that the dials can be easily read in darker light conditions. Sapphire crystal is used to protect the dial of each timepiece. It is treated with a Super Clear coating to give the watches a perfect shine.
A titanium case houses the movement of each watch. The case measures 42.7mm in diameter and 12.2mm in thickness. This size ensures the watch is clear and easy to read whilst being eye-catching on the wrist. The watches are secured using lightweight and long-lasting titanium bracelets. For the wearer’s peace of mind, this bracelet is fastened using a three-fold clasp with a push-button release. Additionally, each of the new timepieces is water-resistant up to 100 metres (10 bar).
