Louis Vuitton introduced its first-ever watch in 2002, the Tambour. The piece is made at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton in Switzerland and boasts distinct lines and inventive shapes. According to the French house, the Tambour’s round case sculpted from a single piece of metal anchored by applied horns helped solidify the model in the watchmaking world.
This year, the recognizable piece marks its 20th anniversary. The limited edition Tambour Twenty, its newest interaction, was released to celebrate. The face of the campaign is actor and director Bradley Cooper, who lends his face to Louis Vuitton for the first time. The Tambour Twenty pays tribute to the first model by reviving its recognizable details.
It includes a deep, flared 41.5mm case with a brown sunray dial, yellow chronograph hands, and the engraved brand name flanking the case. However, the design update includes the LV277 high-frequency automatic chronograph movement, a 22-carat oscillating weight, and an engraved case back. Only 200 pieces of the newest Tambour will be released, which come in a custom trunk made from monogram canvas.
