Taiwan’s bustling capital is already home to a slew of high-end hotels from the planet’s most luxurious brands including Mandarin Oriental, Shangri-La Far Eastern and the Grand Hyatt. Now, Four Seasons has followed suit, announcing plans to open a brand-new outpost in the heart of Xinyi District, directly opposite the city’s famed Taipei 101 skyscraper – one of the tallest towers in the world.

Known for its gourmet eateries, boutique shops and trendy clubs, Xinyi District is a fitting location for the new property. Four Seasons has teamed up with Yuan Lih Construction Co. Ltd for its latest venture in Taipei, with building already underway.

While the global brand is yet to share an opening date, we do know the hotel will be situated within a modern 31-story tower that won’t feel out of place in the city’s commercial hub. British architectural firm RSHP was brought in to ensure the location takes center stage at the new outpost.

“Through three significant outward-facing spatial gestures across its elevation, the hotel will embrace the immediate public realm at street level, the rapidly growing Xinyi District at mid-level and Taipei’s iconic mountain setting at its peak, together creating a landmark building that is very much of its place,” said Ivan Harbour, senior design partner at RSHP.

“With a focus on guest experience and well-being, the team has carefully orchestrated the interactions between the hotel and its surroundings. Every journey and every space will have its own moment.”

Details remain sparse for the time being, but Four Seasons has revealed its new hotel in Taipei will feature 260 rooms (many of which will boast stunning skyline views), a selection of upscale restaurants, an outdoor pool and expansive spa. Business travelers will also have access to several meeting and event spaces including a grand ballroom.
