The stunning egg features a rich dark chocolate, spherical cage, laid over a smaller, golden egg, stuffed with a dreamy hazelnut and chocolate mousse. The beautiful creation is inspired by the Essence Rose Gold Ruby Heart Surprise Locket, a treasure from Fabergé’s current collection, which consists of an 18k rose gold egg with a ruby heart nestled within. Nodding to the opulent colours of the locket, the chocolate egg sits atop a vivid red tuille and is adorned with edible rubies, all served with the finest vanilla ice cream.
In case that’s not quite indulgent enough, The Ritz has also dreamed up a unique chocolate Fabergé Egg sculpture, which will be displayed in pride of place at the hotel throughout Easter week. Nodding to Peter Carl Fabergé’s 1901 Imperial Basket of Flowers Egg, a fabled creation that now belongs to the Royal Collection Trust, the 45-centimetre-tall chocolate version features a handmade chocolate egg, decorated with hand-brushed, pastel chocolate flowers and elaborate gold touches, all standing regally on a specially-designed chocolate base.
