The business of being Pete Davidson is still prospering, as evidenced by the TV series, currently in production, that’ll supposedly center on a slightly fictionalized version of Davidson’s own life. (For further context: Edie Falco is slated to play his mom, while Joe Pesci will play his grandfather.) The comedian’s been spotted out and about around New York City filming Bupkis this month, in turn providing a substantial preview of the things his fictional self is going to wear—and fortunately for us, even the semi-autobiographical Pete Davison still dresses like real-life Pete Davidson.

So far Parallel Pete has carried on his namesake’s legacy of hype-y, schlubby-cool athleisure, including a pair of cushy, acid-wash periwinkle joggers, some shiny green (and, as Highsnobiety pointed out, de-branded) Stone Island flight pants, and the requisite old-school tracksuit paired with vintage Staten Island merch. There is also some evidence of Pete’s more recent “elevated” personal style, like a slick chocolate-brown leather coat and some glam Jacques Marie Mage sunglasses. Despite early appearances of silvery JJJJound Asics and high-top Chucks, a pair of beige, velcro-strapped Propet orthopedic steppers made an appearance on set this week.

Always repping Staten Island.

Davidson’s post-SNL roles all seem to more or less channel his real-life persona. He’s characterized his style as fundamentally juvenile in the past (“I dress how I dressed when I was, like, 10,” Davidson told GQ back in 2018. “I’m like, ‘What would be cool? Purple pants’”) but, as we’ve seen in the last year or so, his wardrobe has started to catch up with his age—and his skyrocketing level of fame. One can only imagine that Bupkis’s Pete will embark on a similar arc.
