Now, she freely shares what it took for her to overcome a range of challenges over the years.

Namely, she is decisive about relating her mental health struggles, shattering the misconception of a “perfect beauty queen.” This is in favor of promoting a healthier image of a real person with lived experiences.

“I was determined to stay strong, to continue my mission, my purpose, and to turn things around. I wanted to face my demons and finally take care of my heart, something which I didn’t do or never cared to do,” Wurtzbach said.

From winning Miss Universe to destigmatizing mental health on her YouTube channel, she advocates for a more open-minded culture. One where there is no shame in admitting imperfections and accepting help.

Help is here

This was the subject of conversation when Pia emerged as the 2022 ambassador for Ultherapy in September. At The Shangri-La at the Fort Hotel, Wurtzbach shared the stage with doctor Ed Tolentino and board-certified dermatologist Irene Gaile Robredo-Vitas.

While Tolentino discussed self-care through a more current perspective, Robredo-Vitas observed how patients cope through “me-time.”

Particularly, Ultherapy has become something of a go-to treatment. It offers more than 2Mio treatments worldwide with over 95 percent patient satisfaction one year after treatment rating.

It is the only non-invasive ultrasound treatment that allows clients to see below the skin’s surface. This is to promote safe and effective treatments.

Consequentially, Ultherapy has maintained its reputation as the gold standard in skin lifting and tightening on the brows, chin, and neck areas. This is on top of improving lines on the décolletage.

With a heart

Meanwhile, Merz Philippines general manager Jorge Libanan shared the country’s first aesthetic app, the Merz Aesthetic Serendipity Journey or MASJ MYSELF app.

This is in line with the company’s purpose to fuel confidence and help Filipinos look better, feel better, and live better.

In Ultherapy’s new campaign #AllItTakesIsU, the brand focuses on overall confidence: “Feeling it inside and out. How you can go out in just a shirt and jeans and still feel beautiful. You don’t need a fancy dress to look your best. Or even too much makeup. You’re confident that you’re beautiful, no matter what. And all it takes is Ultherapy to make every angle your best angle.”
