It’s the largest flawless diamond ever graded by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).

The auction block has seen an incredible rise in colored diamonds and beyond. “Lulo Rose,” a 170-carat pink diamond, sold for $71.2 million, while a 15.81-carat purple-pink gem was taken home for $29.3 million. “The Enigma,” a diamond (said to come from outer space) weighing exactly 555.55 carats with 55 facets, received a winning bid of $4.3 million. 

The highlight

Now, the “Golden Canary” enters the auction market, a massive 303.10-carat Fancy Deep Brownish-Yellow Diamond. According to Gulf Today, it’s one of the “largest polished diamonds in the world and the largest flawless or internally flawless diamond ever graded by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).”

The precious gem, estimated to fetch $15 million, will headline Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels auction in New York in December.
