Alaska Airlines has outlined plans for the renovation and expansion of its lounges at Seattle-Tacoma International airport, as well as the refreshing of facilities at Portland and Los Angeles.

The carrier will open its expanded Seattle C Concourse Lounge in the coming days, which will offer an additional 3,000 square feet of space and 60 more seats.

Then in January work will start on the airline’s D Concourse Lounge, which will close on January 7, 2023 “for a complete overhaul”. The facility is set to reopen next summer, featuring 30 per cent more seating, a new barista coffee station and revamped food and beverage offerings.

Alaska Airlines also highlighted a $1.5 million investment in its Portland lounges this year, expanding the existing space with the addition of an enclosed patio area, and the opening of a new Express Lounge at Concourse B.

Work is also being carried out to refresh the carrier’s lounge at Los Angeles International, including new artwork by local artists at LAX.

The airline opened a new lounge at San Francisco International in 2021, with the renovation of a former American Airlines Admirals Club lounge within the airport’s Terminal 2.

“Our members know our Lounge programme is one of the best values in the airline industry with one of the most generous access policies. We’re investing in more space and better products as we strive to ensure our members have a terrific experience when they step inside any of our locations.”

Alaska Airlines became the 14th full member of the Oneworld airline alliance in April 2021, giving eligible members access to the carrier’s lounges at Anchorage, LAX, New York JFK, Portland, San Francisco and Seattle.
