1. Ka’anapali Beach
Often topping the best beach in Maui list, and sometimes, the best beach in the world lists too, this three-mile stretch of beach is simply breathtaking. With power soft white sand and crystal clear water, this former retreat for the royalty of Maui is now a popular beach with tourists from all over the world who come and stay just a stone’s throw from the sand in the gorgeous resorts facing this renowned beach.
2. Kapalua Bay
Another one of Maui’s beaches frequently voted ‘America’s Best Beach’, Kapalua Bay is postcard perfect. With miles of soft white sand, vivid blue water and gently swaying palm trees, you’ll engage vacation mode as soon as your feet sink into its baby powder sand. The crescent-shaped cove is protected by two reefs, which means the waters here stay bathwater-warm and calm all year round. Bring your snorkelling gear because it’s one of the places in the state to explore Hawaii’s rich marine life, for instance, parrotfish, butterflyfish and green sea turtles.
3. Honokalani Beach
Situated around three miles north of Hana, Honokalani Beach is Maui’s most famous black sand beach. However, the ‘sand’ is actually tiny lava pebbles formed by a lava flow that cooled and hardened. 5. Makena Beach State Park
Makena Beach State Park is composed of ‘Big Beach’ and ‘Little Beach.’ It is a scenic wildland beach park with a large white sand beach with a volcanic crater that dominates the shoreline. Swimming, bodyboarding, shore fishing, and simply having a relaxing time are the top activities on this beach. Fun fact: Makena Beach is the most photographed beach in all of Hawaii.
6. Baldwin Beach Park
Baldwin Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Maui’s North Shore area. Palauea Beach, aka White Rock, is more of a local spot, and you won’t find many tourists here.
