Industry-leading personal submarine producer Triton has revealed the latest addition to its portfolio of deep-diving subs: Aurelia. Capable of exploring depths of up to 7,500 ft, Aurelia takes the title of the deepest diving three-person acrylic submarine in history.

Aurelia has been specifically designed for use onboard the REV Ocean research yacht, with the potential to take a pilot and two guests to some of the ocean’s deepest depths providing a whole new level of discovery.

When underwater, passengers and researchers alike can experience virtually 360-degree views through the spherical transparent acrylic hull. The vessel is also kitted out with advanced equipment for data and sample collection, as well as underwater filming, making it the ideal submersible for scientists, filmmakers and curious explorers alike.

Aurelia joins REV Ocean’s other Triton submarine, Aurora, which come together to make the yacht one of the world’s best-equipped research vessels. While primarily used as a base for scientific expeditions, the yacht is also available for private charter, giving guests a once-in-lifetime opportunity to join researchers on a long-distance cruise – as well as try the latest Triton technologies.

REV Ocean’s CEO Nina Jensen said “Aurelia is absolutely incredible and perfectly designed for REV Ocean’s scientific goals and ambitions. With both Aurelia and Aurora now in service we have the best tag team in the world for conducting cutting edge ocean science, education, and communications.”

Having been ‘baptized’ last month, Aurelia will shortly undergo the final stages of construction, which involves extensive sea trials around the Balearic Islands, before receiving final certification and being delivered to its new owner.

“Triton is proud to support Project REV Ocean’s ambitious initiative to dive deeper, explore further and learn more about the ocean,” said Triton founder and president, Patrick Lahey. “At Triton, we never stop innovating and it is a privilege and an honor to work collaboratively with an organization like Project REV Ocean, which shares our passion and enthusiasm for ocean exploration.”
