Addressing employers, she continued: ‘Earlier this week, I created a Business Taskforce for Early Childhood to discuss how we can work together to change the way we all view and prioritise early childhood. This is not only for the benefit of society today, but for all of us in the years to come… Businesses should play a significant role in changing attitudes, both within their own organisations and across their wider network of suppliers, customers and communities.’

The high-profile newspaper article is yet another example of how the Princess of Wales is growing in confidence and embracing her new role as queen-in-waiting. Earlier this week, she launched the taskforce with a meeting in the City of London.

Addressing representatives from her new corporate partners, NatWest, Unilever, Aviva, Deloitte, IKEA, Co-op, The LEGO Group and Iceland, the princess again spoke on the importance of early childhood, which has become the cornerstone of her royal work.

The meeting represented a coup for the royal, who has proved she is more than capable of turning her words into action – and recruit high powered partners in the process.
