Cosmetic retailer Lancome has appointed Squid Game’s Hoyeon Jung and singer Aya Nakamura as its global brand ambassadors.

Jung is a Korean actress who starred in the Netflix reality series “Squid Game.” She received the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actress in a Drama Series. She was also nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

Meanwhile, Nakamura, nicknamed the “queen of French pop,” became famous with her song “Djadja” in 2018. The Mali-born singer began her music career in 2014, aged 19, with the song “Karma” on Facebook.

“It will give me a chance to be able to share the value of the beauty of many Asian women around the world,” Jung told WWD.

“This also allows me to share and communicate the many different shapes and forms of beauty that not only women, but people anywhere, have within themselves.”

The nominations of Jung and Nakamura come just after YouTube and social media celebrity Emma Chamberlain was named a Lancome global ambassador, with the goal of targeting Gen Z consumers.

In 2019, Zendaya Coleman was also named Lancome’s global ambassador. Two years later, the company introduced its first virtual flagship experience, which was dubbed “the next big thing” in beauty tech, in 17 nations including Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, and the US.
