23-year-old Sofia Richie, the glamorous socialite daughter of musical megastar Lionel, has revealed that she is to marry her boyfriend of one year, music executive Elliot Grainge. The 28-year-old proposed with a large emerald-cut diamond ring, while surrounded by candles on a beach. The bride-to-be looked suitably chic for the occasion – captured for Instagram – wearing a floral yellow dress by Californian cool-girl brand Rodarte.

A source told Entertainment Tonight: ‘They have been friends for years and Elliot is also close with Sofia’s brother, Miles. It’s very nice for Sofia to date someone who her family approves of and likes. Sofia and Elliot are happy together and having fun.’
Richie grew up in Hollywood alongside her elder sister, the It girl Nicole Richie, famous for being best friends with Paris Hilton. She previously dated Scott Disick, the ex-boyfriend of Kourtney Kardashian, for three years, despite a 16-year age gap.
Of their relationship, she told Tatler for the April 2019 issue, ‘I think a lot of people think they have to prove their relationships through social media and I’m just happy being private about my relationship. It’s not like I won’t post pictures about it, but I like having my little private life.’
Despite her starry upbringing, Richie does not have a celebrity circle of friends, so the wedding will likely be less mega-watt than the recent Peltz-Beckham extravaganza. Other A-list nuptials taking place this year will include Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton, Michelle Dockery and Jasper Waller-Bridge and Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck.
