Maternity style is having a moment. Not since Demi Moore graced the August 1991 cover of Vanity Fair in nothing but a baby bump and decadent diamonds has pregnancy been so chic. Nicky Hilton Rothschild has been serving Upper East Side elegance in New York, Cristian Ronaldo’s girlfriend Georgina Rodríguez has been doing bikinis and Dior in Dubai and Rihanna has been gifting the internet with a myriad of belly-boasting ensembles since her pregnancy announcement in vintage Chanel chains, ripped low-rise jeans and a pink puffer jacket. Just yesterday the songstress wowed the crowds once again in a sheer Dior gown at their AW22 show at Paris Fashion Week.
Over here in the UK however, another style starlet has been flying the flag for bump-tastic fashion; Lady Clara Paget. The former Tatler cover star and daughter of Charles Paget, 8th Marquess of Anglesey announced the news at the end of January with an Instagram post sharing, ‘Our little lion cub is coming to join us in August’. Having held one of the most dazzling society weddings of 2021 (think Savannah Bridal, De La Vali and Clio Peppiat dresses; a stunning stately home venue; and Cara Delevingne, Lady Mary Charteris and Fran Cutler among the guestlist), it was to no surprise that Paget’s with-child-wardrobe would be nothing short of spectacular.
