The most eagle-eyed of royal-watchers may already be aware of Samuel and Arthur Chatto. The sons of Lady Sarah Chatto and Daniel Chatto, 26-year-old Sam and 23-year-old Arthur are two of the Queen’s great nephews, and are 28th and 29th in line to the throne respectively. Both boys attended Eton College, before moving on to the University of Edinburgh to study History of Art. But despite their similar trajectories, the brothers have very different interests.

Unlike more senior royals, their fringe position in the family means the boys are exempt from the no social media rule – which enables some welcome insight into their personalities and hobbies. Sam takes after his mother, who’s a keen painter, and has quite the artistic side – his particular passion is pottery. Having found himself ‘completely uninspired by my three-month job working in the commercial art market’, Sam took matters into his own hands, and now describes himself as ‘a British artist and maker currently working in clay to create functional and sculptural wood fired ceramics, from my home and studio in West Sussex.’
