From Kendall to Brooklyn: A Comprehensive Guide to the Current Crop of Models with Famous Parents

It’s not unusual for the offspring of the rich and famous to follow in their parents’ footsteps and go into the family business. As New York is in the midst of another Fashion Week, we take a look at those celebrity children who are busy forging a separate path from their famous parents, making their own names in the world of modeling. Yes, they have a head start in life. They have the opportunity to capitalize on contacts that the rest of the world can only dream of, and were born with Instagram-ready genes. But, these models are also putting in the time and effort it takes to make it in the world of the super-beautiful, and looking fabulous while doing so.

    Kendall Jenner

Model of the moment, 20-year-old Kendall Jenner’s rise to the top was meteoric. Having made no secret to her parents, Kris and Caitlyn Jenner, (and the world) of her modeling aspirations on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kendall has achieved her dreams and more. She made her catwalk debut for Marc Jacobs at age 18 for the label’s AW14 show, and has since walked for Dolce & Gabbana, Balmain, and even earned the honor of closing the Chanel Haute Couture show in Paris last year in a bridal suit. On top of all that, she’s the face of Estée Lauder and last year was given her Victoria’s Secret angel wings—making Kris one #proudmama.

    Rafferty Law

At the ages of five and one years old, the children of British actors Jude Law and Sadie Frost, who also runs the fashion label Frost French, made their modeling debuts in a Vogue spread with their famous parents. So it’s safe to say that modeling was something they were pretty much born into. Rafferty is now signed to Select Model Management, and made his catwalk debut at 17 at the DKNY men’s-wear show in London in 2015. Since then, he’s appeared in countless magazine spreads, including British Vogue and Teen Vogue, and was named one of the “Best Dressed Men in Britain” by GQ.

    Iris Law

It looks like he’s going to have to share the spotlight with his younger sister, Iris, now 15, who recently showed off a shoot that she did for Violetta Fancies You x Illustrated People on Instagram, causing the line of printed pajamas to sell out. Watch this space.

    Lily-Rose Depp

With the beautiful Johnny Depp and even more beautiful Vanessa Paradis for parents, good looks were always going to be on the cards for Lily-Rose Depp. The teenager, who bears more than a striking resemblance to her mother (a notable favorite among Karl Lagerfeld’s muses), made her fashion red-carpet debut at the Chanel Paris-Salzburg show in April last year. Now 16 years old, no one was surprised when both mother and daughter took part in the label’s casino-themed couture fall 2015 show, or when Lily-Rose followed in Paradis’s footsteps to become a Chanel ambassador, landing her first campaign as the face of the designer’s Pearl eyewear collection. Her first cover, on the front of the spring 2016 issue of Love magazine, soon followed. Having also made forays into the singing and acting worlds, keep an eye on what this one will do next.

  • Brooklyn Beckham

Not the only one of David and Victoria Beckham’s sons to have turned their interest toward their mother’s career in fashion, Brooklyn has dipped his toe in the modeling pool, making his debut at age 15 on the cover of Man About Town. He has since starred in a campaign for Polish brand Reserved and in The New York Times Style Magazine.

    Romeo Beckham

Despite only being the tender age of 13 years old, Romeo Beckham already has two major Burberry modeling campaigns under his belt.

    Dylan Frances Penn

The 24-year-old Dylan Penn, daughter of actors Sean Penn and Robin Wright, has had to work hard for her burgeoning modeling career, previously delivering pizzas, waitressing, and interning, in addition to other jobs, before getting her first campaign for Gap in 2013. She has since been featured in publications such as W, Elle, GQ, and raised eyebrows with a controversial cover for Tony Duran for Treats!, where she posed nude, save for a Fendi bag. However, Dylan has revealed that she doesn’t view modeling as a long-term career for her, but as a temporary paycheck, as she has her sights set on Hollywood.

    Zoë Kravitz

Although Zoë, 27, is better known for her acting skills, she is also no stranger to the modeling scene. Known for her edgy style, as is her illustrious father, Lenny Kravitz, she has been the face of two major Vera Wang fragrances, and has starred in campaigns for the likes of Balenciaga and Alexander Wang, as well as walking for the latter during Paris Fashion Week last year. Zoë and her mother, the actress Lisa Bonet, appeared together in a campaign for Calvin Klein, and the young star has also been featured in publications such as Elle and French magazine Jalouse. Zoë recently became the face of Brooklyn-based designer Alexis Bittar’s jewelry line, demonstrating that her talents lie way beyond the big screen.

    Ireland Baldwin

Actors Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger’s daughter, the statuesque Ireland, at the age of 20, has already worked with some of the top names in the business. She’s appeared in Elle, been shot by Bruce Weber for DuJour magazine, and been photographed by Patrick Demarchelier when she was named as Vanity Fair’s “It girl” in June 2013, just to name a few.

    Hailey Baldwin

Showing that good looks run in the family is Ireland’s cousin, Hailey Baldwin, one of the social-media model crew of celebrity B.F.F.s who are currently enjoying a simultaneous peak in their careers. The daughter of Alec Baldwin’s brother, Stephen, also an actor, and graphic designer Kennya, the striking 19-year-old has previously admitted that modeling wasn’t her first career choice but rather something she fell into. If you take a look at her campaigns for Ralph Lauren, Topshop, and French Connection, and with names like Moschino, Tommy Hilfiger, and Sonia Rykiel on her catwalk résumé, it’s clear to see why.

  • Daisy Lowe

Daisy Lowe began modeling when she was a mere baby, and was talent scouted when she was 15 years old. The daughter of Pearl Lowe, singer turned fashion designer, and musician Gavin Rossdale, the British beauty has appeared in publications such as Tatler, GQ, Vogue, Interview, Elle, and Teen Vogue, to name a small selection. Like many on this list, it would take too long to list the number of designers she has modeled and walked for (Chanel, Vivienne Westwood, and Marc Jacobs, among them). In 2010, Daisy was featured in Terry Richardson’s Pirelli Calendar and has also posed nude for Playboy and British i-D magazine

    Dree Hemingway

True beauty Dree Hemingway is the daughter of Stephen Crisman, a screenwriter, and the actress Mariel Hemingway (granddaughter of Ernest Hemingway). At 28, Dree’s modeling career is impressive to say the least, with countless magazine shoots, high-profile campaigns, and catwalk shows to her name. She has appeared in seven different international editions of Vogue magazine and made headlines recently as the centerfold of Playboy’s first non-nude issue.

    Riley Keough

As if Riley Keough’s start in life hadn’t been rock ’n’ roll enough (her grandfather was Elvis Presley, and her parents are singer-songwriters Lisa Marie Presley and Danny Keough), she made her modeling debut on the cover of Vogue at the age of 15, accomplishing what many models can only dream of. Now 26, she since went on to tick off more on the ultimate model bucket list. Become the face of a household brand? Check (she was a Dior ambassador and the face of the Miss Dior Chérie fragrance). Walk for one of fashion’s top designer labels? Check (she made her runway debut for Dolce & Gabbana in Milan). Become a Victoria’s Secret Angel? Check. We’re not sure how much higher her model credentials can get.

    Dylan Brosnan

When your dad used to be James Bond, you know you’ve hit the genetic lottery, and Dylan Brosnan is no exception. Son of actor Pierce Brosnan and journalist Keely Shaye Smith, Dylan has already appeared in campaigns for two of fashion’s top designer labels: Saint Laurent and Burberry. An impressive feat for a 19-year-old.
