What better way to spend an afternooon than shopping in Harrods of Knightsbridge, London and then satisfying your hunger in the stunning and authentic Pan-Asian 5th floor restaurant, Chai Wu.
We were surrounded by glamorous Harrods visitors laden with ‘little green bags’ all perusing the Chai Wu menu, while enjoying a delicious cocktail.
My colleague and I both chose a Kir Royale while taking advice on the delicious dishes from the incredibly helpful staff, the menu is extensive, there’s a lot to choose from.
We chose a selection of starters that included little wagyu beef parcels, perfectly formed dim sum, gyozas and Beijing duck pancakes. The parcels were delicate and delicious, the gyozas light and fluffy and the duck pancakes were stunning and were presented with not only pancakes, but with mantou buns and at least six delicious different dipping sauces. The duck was tasty and succulent, we enjoyed every mouthful.
Our main courses were a great selection too as recommended by the Chai Wu team, we had the sticky rice, coconut prawns and Szechuan chicken and Japanese Miyazaki beef. Each and every dish was beautifully presented and amazingly tasty.
The restaurant had a really laid back vibe, taking inspiration from the five elements of Chinese philosophy – wood, metal, water, earth and fire, the restaurant has a warma nd inviting atmosphere, elegant and comfortable.
The waitng staff are knowledgable and professional, with great advice when choosing your dishes, that are full of wonderful flavours and textures, not only a feast for the tastebuds, but the eyes too!
