After its debut in Madrid on 13 June, Cartier’s Beautés du Monde high jewellery collection has now arrived in Singapore for only its second presentation. Taking over the Grand Ballroom at Capella Singapore, more than 200 creations by Cartier are on display, an exploration of the maison’s latest and greatest works of art.

The scenography tracks that of the Madrid exhibition, which was conceptualised by Spanish artist and designer Jaime Hayon and held at the former British Embassy, a Brutalist building unused since 2009. By combining soothing lighting, pleasing colours, and soft rounded arches, windows and frames, the exhibition takes guests on a transportive, meandering journey through salons divided into five distinct themes: Cultural World, World of Wildlife, Mineral World, Special Orders, and Diamond and Centre Stones.
Cartier’s launch for this summer’s high jewellery season, the Beautés du Monde collection represents the maison’s quest to discover and capture the wonders the world has to offer, among a vast array of natural phenomena and historical references like iguanas, coral reef atolls, water lilies, ammonite fossils, and serpents, both real and mythological.
Besides pieces from the new Beautés du Monde high jewellery collection, the exhibition in Singapore features a number of highlights and classics from the house of Cartier: the Pankha parure in the Tutti Frutti style, a tricolour marvel and an icon of the maison; Indomptables de Cartier, a recently launched collection that extends the Cartier bestiary; transformable high jewellery like the Nitescence necklace and tiara; haute horlogerie featuring the iconic panther emblem, and more.
Continuing the pursuit of beauty, Cartier held a gala on 13 July at Esplanade, Theatres on the Bay, turning the 2,000-seating theatre into a breathtaking setting for an evening of artistic and culinary splendour. Hosted by Cartier’s Chief Executive Officer of South East Asia & Oceania Cecile Naour, and Managing Director of Singapore, Malaysia & ASEAN Anne Yitzhakov, the event featured a menu curated by Mauro Colagreco, chef–owner of the three-Michelin-starred Mirazur and the new venture Fiamma, at Capella Singapore. An aerial performance, and a concert by American musical vocal group Sister Sledge accompanied guests from dinner to dancing late into the night.
