Now Winfrey has given her opinion on the situation. ‘I think they should do what they feel is best for them and for their family. That’s what I think,’ she said in an on-air interview with her close friend Gayle King. ‘That’s what the bottom line — it comes down to: “What do you feel like is the best thing for you?” They haven’t asked me for my opinion.’ Winfrey was among the guests at the Sussexes’ 2018 wedding at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, and secured a bombshell interview with the couple following their decision to step down as working royals.
The coronation will take place at Westminster Abbey, which has a capacity for some 2,000 guests. The King is reportedly planning to break with tradition by inviting foreign royals to the ceremony, as well as friends, family and other international dignitaries and public figures. Formal invitations have yet to be sent out but it has been reported that a group of guests have been asked to save the date, according to the BBC. A report earlier this week suggested that some of the King’s inner circle are anxious because they have yet to learn if they will be attending.

Writing in the Daily Mail, Richard Eden claimed that a number of those who consider themselves ‘good friends’ of the King and Queen Consort are still awaiting such a communication. An unnamed source told the columnist that the group were ‘finding the wait excruciating’, adding that some of those ‘have made rather a lot about their royal friendships over the years’ were ‘furious’. The source concluded: ‘And, for some, it’s going to end in humiliation.’
