Debra Tay and Tudi Guillamot are always up for an adventure. Whether it’s competitive cycling, scuba diving, renovating fixer-uppers, or travelling the entire length of a country to visit its hiking and nature trails in a camper van.

The husband and wife — she heads the UHNW wealth management team at a Swiss bank, while he trained as an engineer — are so committed to fitness goals and new experiences that they have formalised what was once a passion project into Cycling Bears — a company combines the sale of fitness equipment with design services.

Cycling Bears is named after Guillamot’s nickname “Tudi Bear” and his zeal for cycling and customising road bikes for fellow enthusiasts.

One might call the endeavour their Covid baby. “We found that the last two years spent indoors increased our need for home workouts. Being avid fitness enthusiasts, we bought some equipment, but realised we were scrambling to stow away the bulky, unsightly equipment whenever anyone visited,” shares Tay, who is also a certified National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) home gym designer. “This inspired us to think about how we could offer gym equipment that was functional and beautifully designed to seamlessly blend in with its surroundings.”
