Wales, of course, is a destination close to the Cambridges’ hearts, as they lived in Anglesey during the early days of their marriage, while Prince William worked as an air ambulance pilot based there. When the duke’s father ascends to the throne, William will become the Prince of Wales. It is not yet known if Kate will take on the title of Princess of Wales, with the large shoes of her late mother-in-law, Diana, Princess of Wales, to step into. The Duchess of Cornwall has famously chosen not to style herself as the Princess of Wales, out of respect to the late royal.

During this week’s visit, the royal couple were pictured playing with goats. A few weeks ago, there was another touching animal interaction when the duchess met a sweet chocolate-coloured puppy – whose coat matched her own.

Other eco-conscious royals include Princess Beatrice, who borrowed her wedding dress from her grandmother, Her Majesty the Queen. The Norman Hartnell gown was reconfigured to fit the taller princess, with sleeves added too. It had perviously been worn by the Queen in the 1960s.
