Last year, Justin Bieber cancelled a string of shows on his Justice World Tour, announcing to the public that he was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome after suffering severe face paralysis. The 29-year old has now taken to Instagram to show off the improvement he’s made in face mobility since being diagnosed with the rare neurological disorder.

The Instagram story, which Bieber captioned “wait for it,” shows the pop star looking around before the camera zooms in on a massive Bieber grin, showing off the progress he has made through extensive rehabilitation. The Instagram story also shows fans that the singer can now move both sides of his face, something he couldn’t do last year when he was first suffering the effects of facial paralysis due to Ramsay Hunt Syndrome.

In 2022, Bieber cancelled his remaining dates of the Justice World Tour due to is diagnosis, which included shows in the U.K., France, Poland, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, and the Czech Republic.

“As you can see, this eye is not blinking. I can’t smile on this side of my face… So there’s full paralysis on this side of my face,” he said via a three-minute Instagram video.

“So for those who are frustrated by my cancelations of the next shows, I’m just physically, obviously, not capable of doing them.” “This is pretty serious, as you can see. I wish this wasn’t the case, but, obviously, my body is telling me I gotta slow down.”

While cancelling a majority of his tour dates, Bieber made a short return to the stage in late July in America. In September, he tweeted about the experience, writing, “I performed six live shows, but it took a real toll on me.”

“Each day has gotten better and through all of the discomfort I have found comfort in the one who designed me and knows me. I’m reminded he knows all of me,” he continued. “He know the darkest parts of me that I want no one to know about and he constantly welcomes me into his loving arms. This perspective has give me peace during this horrific storm that I’m facing.”

Bieber explained to his fans that the rare neurological disorder attacked the nerves in his ear and his face that subsequently caused his face paralysis. Almost a year later, the singer has made great improvement in his face mobility, as seen via his latest Instagram story.
