General Motors Reports $156.7 Billion Revenue In 2022

Motor City’s international powerhouse tallies its numbers.

Many of us in the United States know General Motors for being one of the “Big Three” of the domestic car industry, with its celebrated and historic brands like Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, and Cadillac, but far beyond our shores, General Motors is also entrenched in global operation, and with it, along with heavy investment in its electric mobility solutions and progress towards anonymous driving, the company’s 2022 revenue reached $156.7 billion.

In the company’s official letter to shareholders, General Motors celebrated a year of success, leading the U.S. auto industry in year-over-year increase in market share, success in the full-size SUV and pickup truck arena, and the blossoming of its futuristic technologies, like the Ultium electric platform, and Cruise autonomous driving. The letter indicates that 2023 will be the Ultium platform’s breakout year, which means that us car enthusiasts may have new Ultium-based electric models to look forward to from GM’s various brands soon.
