As demand for private aviation continues to soar, one of the nation’s largest charter operators, flyExclusive, has announced the launch of a fractional ownership program set to compete with those offered by Flexjet and NetJets.
The news follows the company’s order of 30 Cessna Citation CJ3+ light jets from Textron to support the program, with the first batch of five aircraft to be delivered in 2023, and a follow up order for Citation XLS midsize jets expected before the end of the year.
“This expansion launches flyExclusive into the fractional space,” said Jim Segrave, chairman and founder of flyExcusive. “We are committed to redefining the private flying experience, providing the full suite of products for our customers all delivering consistent, reliable and world-class service.”
The brand new aircraft have a range of 2,040 nautical miles and can fly a single pilot and up to four passengers non-stop from Shanghai to Tokyo or London to Athens. Designed to minimize fuel prices and the environmental impact, Textron claims the Citation CJ3+ burns on average 10 percent less fuel while costing five percent less in maintenance per flight hour versus other aircraft in the light aircraft market.

So what can prospective customers expect from the new program? Fractional owners will be given a share in one of the brand new Cessna Citation CJ3+ jets and access to flyExclusive’s entire existing fleet of 85 light, mid-size and super mid-size aircraft.
To keep things simple, customers will only have to pay an hourly or daily rate for the aircraft when they fly with no monthly management fee – a pricing structure that is already in place for the company’s existing Air Partnership program and Jet Club.
Fractional owners will also enjoy the benefits of flying privately without having to worry about the logistics that come with owning an aircraft. From hiring crews to covering insurance and assisting with trip planning, a team of professionals will be on-hand to take care of the details.
And when it comes to safety, customers can rest easy as flyExclusive has achieved two rigorous third-party audit certifications: ARGUS Platinum and Wyvern Wingman.
“We continue to innovate in the marketplace with a fully owned and operated fleet and a vertically integrated business model that redefines what it means to fly private,” said Segrave.
“flyExclusive Fractional joins our innovative Jet Club and Aircraft Partnership Program to give flyers a multitude of pathways that all lead to one destination: more ways to take control of their private flying. We will continue to identify new opportunities to extend reliability, flexibility and unmatched private charter experiences for our customers and now for our flyExclusive Fractional owners.”
