90s Kids, Rise Up! A 'Good Burger' Sequel Is on the Way

“Welcome to the Good Burger, home of the Good Burger — part two!” Kel Mitchell said, confirming the long-awaited sequel to Good Burger. 90s kids, rejoice!

Mitchell and Keenan Thompson, who starred in the 1997 comedy, announced Good Burger 2 while appearing on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show on March 17.

During Friday’s episode, the two revealed they’d wanted to do the sequel since the first film hit theaters 26 years ago. Now, the moment has come.

Publishing company Aladdin technically issued a sequel in the form of book titled Good Burger 2 Go. Written by Keenan & Kel writer Steven Holland, the novel arrived a year after the release of the first film and received many five-star reviews.

However, the book sort of slid into obscurity, only to be forgotten along with talks of a sequel (until now, that is).

Good Burger 2 will see Thompson and Mitchell reprise their roles as the beloved duo Ed and Dexter, with Dexter returning to the restaurant after a failed invention — reuniting with Ed and meeting the new Good Burger crew.

According to the All That alums, fans can expect a few celebrity cameos and a lot of “hijinks” in the forthcoming film.

The first film was an adaptation of the All That’s “Good Burger” skit centered around the dimwitted character Ed working at a burger joint.

The original Good Burger may not have been the critics’ fave (though, it earned a cool $23.7 million in the box office), but it’s recognized as a classic amongst the kids who grew up on Nickelodeon (it’s me, I’m one of those kids).

Filming for Good Burger 2 kicks off around May, with the finished product (the actual movie) expected to premiere on Paramout+ before the year is out.
