Calling all thalassophiles! The opportunity has arisen to become the owner of a luxury apartment on board the largest superyacht in the world, Somnio. Currently being built, the 222 metre-long boat will be ready in 2024, and has been designed by Two of the world’s foremost architectural and design studios, Winch Design of the United Kingdom and Tillberg Design of Sweden.

The owners of the 39 luxury apartments will be kept a secret, protecting the privacy of those on board with the utmost discretion. They will be able to look forward to not only amenities and facilities akin to a five-star luxury hotel, but also an ever-changing and exciting travel itinerary, from expeditions to Antartica to sailing around the Mediterranean.

Facilities onboard will include a 10,000-bottle wine cellar and tasting room; a choice of restaurants and bars; and an onboard beach club featuring water-sports facilities.

A world-class medical care system will also be in place, in order to prevent against outbreaks of disease, as was seen at the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak with Japan’s Diamond Princess.

The ship is being built reflecting the latest environmentally friendly technology, while guest speakers will be invited on board to educate owners on the latest global challenges and philanthropic issues.

Announcing the launch of Somnio, Captain Erik Bredhe said: ‘Somnio will be the only residential superyacht in the world and has been designed to exacting standards that are commensurate with a life of opportunity. Owners will share a truly unique lifestyle at sea, with a hand-picked crew and a never-ending global itinerary of carefully selected destinations and experiences befitting a yacht of this nature.’
