TAG Heuer has continued its run of highly successful new release timepieces for 2022 with an eye-catching array of tool-driven watches, new collaborative pieces and a never-before-seen timepiece that left spectators of Watches & Wonders in awe.

Constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation – whilst remaining a brand etched in its stylish, storied past – TAG Heuer released six new watches to its catalogue, all of which are bound to have you reconsidering your next watch purchase.

There’s colour, there’s bling; there’s really something for everybody, which essentially is what watchmaking is all about.

Here’s what’s new from TAG Heuer this year.

Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph

Inspired by ‘light’, the new Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph is the brand’s first-ever solar-powered watch and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. Unveiled at Watches & Wonders by CEO Frédéric Arnault himself, this timepiece is a milestone offering from TAG as it’s the first timepiece to utilise calibre TH50-00 produced by La Joux- Perret, using the renowned and proven “Eco-Drive” solar dial technology for the first time in Switzerland.

Offering exceptional quality and performance, the Solargraph continues the Aquaracer’s tradition of being a watch orientated for the outdoors. Powered by the sun, you won’t need to change the battery of this watch as it recharges with either sun or artificial light. Place it in light for just two minutes and you’ll have a watch that will run all day. When fully charged, the watch can run for six months.

The Solargraph also lightens the Super-LumiNova elements of the watch. The timepiece features a steel case with black DLC coating and bezel inserts made of a blend of carbon and green Super-LumiNova. And a black rubber strap with a folding clasp provides that sporty aesthetic this collection is renowned for.

A definite crowd favourite at this year’s Watches & Wonders.

TAG Heuer Watches & WondersAquaracer Professional 300

Orange is the new black, and this new Aquaracer diver is a testament to that! One of the most colourful new releases from any brand at Watches & Wonders, this timepiece offers a vibrant aesthetic that is inspired by the orange diver reference 844 – a favourite among collectors.

The watch offers a 12-sided uni-directional rotating bezel with a scratch-resistant black ceramic ring, shaped to offer the perfect grip for exploration of the seas, whilst the crown is protected with a guard to avoid any accidental damage that may occur. It’s also capable of 300 meters of water resistance.

Legibility is one of the main features of this new collection, thus the indexes and hands have been coated with white Super-LumiNova to contrast with the colour of the dial. The integration of a magnifier over the date at 6 o’clock is also a nice – but reoccurring – touch.

Powered by TAG Heuer’s Calibre 5, the movement is a Swiss-made workhouse that provides up to 38 hours of power reserve.

Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver

The ultimate luxury dive watch has arrived, designed for those who have a serious knack for deep ocean exploration.

A behemoth of all sorts, this bold and bright Superdiver is robust, precise and born for the deep, offering exceptional performance and function. Utilising calibre TH30-00 produced by Kenissi Manufacture SA – a first for the brand – the new calibre is manufactured exclusively for TAG Heuer, and you can expect an impressive 70 hours of power reserve.

With up to 1000m water resistance, the Aquaracer Superdiver is designed specifically for professional divers. At 45mm, the dial is large enough to ensure optimal legibility, coupled with the use of the highest grade of Super-LumiNova, SLN Grade X1. You’ll also find that it is made from grade 5 titanium, which is a superior material that allows for an exceptional finish that is similar to steel.

The Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver comes with an almost indestructible custom protective case and includes a rescue dive torch (which we hope you’ll never have to use).

RRP: $9,650 AUD

TAG Heuer Watches & WondersThe Monaco Gulf Special Edition

The legend that is the Monaco is back, this time in partnership with the Gulf brand. The sleek dial offers a mix of refined design aesthetics that pay tribute to both the region of Monaco and the Gulf’s ties to Formula One.

The in-house movement Heuer 02 is the heart of this timepiece; a reliable and robust movement housed in a fine-brushed and polished steel 39mm case.

While completely eye-catching, the Monaco x Gulf remains faithful to the original TAG Heuer Monaco made famous by Steve McQueen in 24 Hours of Le Mans, but stands as its own impressive interpretation, adding the right balance of sporty aesthetics with a sophistication that is clearly TAG.

RRP: $10,250 AUD

TAG Heuer Watches & WondersTAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche Limited Edition

This limited-edition timepiece sees the coming together of TAG Heuer and Porsche for the second year in a row. This new model, based on the Carrera Sport Chronograph, offers an exceptional proposition: an in-house Calibre Heuer 02 movement. Manufactured entirely at the TAG Heuer factory in Chevenez, this dedicated movement consists of 168 parts including a column wheel and a vertical clutch. These features allow for exceptional chronometric performance, such as a whopping 80 hours power reserve.

Design-wise, the Carrera x Porsche timepiece takes heavy inspiration from classic Porsche vehicles. Take the textile-inspired leather strap with its double stitching, which is inspired by the seat upholstery of Porsche cars. Or the Sapphire glass case back with an oscillating mass, which pays homage to the famous Porsche steering wheel.

The TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche is limited to just 1500 pieces and comes in a custom-made box.

RRP: $10,250 AUD

Carrera Plasma

Perhaps one of few timepieces to have really caused a stir at this year’s Watches & Wonders, the new Carrera Plasma is a revolutionary new model set to pave the way for what will become common practice for the watch (and jewellery) industry in the years to come: the use of lab-grown diamonds.

Really, the Plasma is incredible to witness. Featuring the innovative TAG Heuer Diamant D’Avant-Garde Technology – a chemical vapour deposition (CVD) which enables the team to explore the versatility of carbon in the form of lab-grown diamonds. The result allows for these lab-grown diamonds to be manipulated into unique shapes and textures, allowing for new shape designs that simply aren’t feasible with natural diamonds.

It’s a first for the watch industry and an exciting revelation that will perhaps pave way for future innovations to exist.

The Plasma is powered by the H02 Tourbillon Nanograph movement, has Diamant d’Avant- Garde lab-grown diamonds set in the case, and features embellished indexes. The polycrystalline diamond dial is truly unique and of course a spectacle to revel in.

The movement is TAG Heuer’s in-house Heuer 02 automatic chronograph, a Swiss-made movement with a 65-hour power reserve in a unique version especially developed for the Plasma. This special edition has been extensively hand-finished and features the oscillating weight in the form of the TAG Heuer shield.

Limited production to just five units per year.
