Suncare brand Ultra Violette may have only launched a year ago, but it’s already clocked up cult status with beauty addicts and is now available at major retailers including Sephora and Adorebeauty with plans to go international.

However, before co-founder Bec Jefferd began her beauty business, she worked internationally at an unusual mix of workplaces, including BP, Toms Organic and L’Oreal. Here, we chat with Jefferd about how those experiences helped her develop her sense of entrepreneurialism and what it’s like working on a start-up during a pandemic.
