Three years ago I had no career, I was single, I was addicted to drugs and cigarettes and I felt utterly lost. Then I discovered manifesting. Within weeks my entire life transformed beyond recognition. I now manifest daily and have the privilege of being able to teach thousands of other men and women how to successfully manifest too. I have witnessed them manifesting anything and everything so I have absolutely no doubt in its power.

To put it simply, manifesting is the ability to draw in anything you desire and create the exact life that you want. Manifesting puts us back in control of our lives and allows us to attract abundance effortlessly. And while these concepts are abstract, there is scientific logic behind them.

According to Dr. Tara Swart, a neuroscientist, former psychiatric doctor and Senior MIT lecturer, when we convert our true desires and goals from the non-conscious or the subconscious to the fully aware, we can prime our brains to focus attention on opportunities to turn our goals into reality. ‘This depends on the selective filtering of data by your brain and how it tags information in order of importance to you,’ explains Swart. ‘You can influence this through neuroplasticity, which is the incredible ability of our brain to grow and change in response to what we believe, think and feel.’

But how do you do manifest?

The most important thing to know is you do not manifest from your thoughts alone, but instead from your subconscious beliefs about what you deserve and from your self worth. This is why self-love, self-development and authenticity are so intrinsically linked to your ability to successfully manifest. In other words, you cannot simply sit down and visualise yourself living in a big house and wait for it to magically appear. To manifest it, you must believe you are truly worthy of it and then align your behaviour with this high self worth.

Here are some tips on how to get started:

1) Self-love: Not many of us are well acquainted with self-love and instead we are more comfortable with self-loathing, negative self-talk and limiting beliefs. To shift out of this we must first look at how we can heal old wounds, change our self-talk, increase our self-esteem/self-worth and strengthen our belief that we really are worthy and deserving of having whatever it is that we want.

2) Practice gratitude: To manifest effectively you must be clear in your vision (of whatever it is you want to manifest) while being wholeheartedly grateful for all that you currently have. One way to practice gratitude is to do a daily positivity journal. Each night, before going to sleep, write down every single good thing that happened to you from the minute you woke up to the minute you went to bed. If the sun was shining, write it down; if your barista was friendly, write it down; if you finally ticked something off your to do list, write it down. Be as thorough as you can with your list and remember that no positive moment can be too small. Doing this every night will help you to reprogram your brain to focus on all the good in your life as well as reminding you of all the beautiful moments that may otherwise have gone unnoticed.

3) Turn envy into inspiration: We all know how easy it is to flick through Instagram and feel immediately triggered by something that makes us feel envious of another person. But this comes from a place of scarcity: it says, ‘I don’t believe that there is enough to go around’. Try shifting your mindset to one of inspiration, allowing someone else’s success to make you feel inspired instead of envious. This inspired mindset says to the universe, ‘I believe there is an abundance of love, success and happiness to go around,’ and then that is what you will manifest.

4) Step outside your comfort zone: When we do the uncomfortable and overcome fear, we shift our energy instantly and we show the universe, in action, that we are ready for something new and something that is aligned with our self-belief. Remember that magic happens outside of your comfort zone.
