There has only been one 33-minute podcast released by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex since they signed a deal with Spotify in 2020, via their production company, Archewell Audio. The partnership, which hoped to ‘produce podcasts that build community through shared experience, narratives, and values’, was an exciting endeavour conducted by Harry, Meghan and the corporation. However, in the years following the agreement, the couple’s Spotify presence fell silent, as they remained busy with the birth of their second child, Lilibet, in June 2021, and continued to settle into their new life in California.
Now, however, according to Town & Country, a spokesperson for Archewell Audio has confirmed that Meghan’s first solo podcast will be launching this summer. There is much speculation over who will appear alongside the duchess during recordings. For the royal couple’s first and only release they featured stories from guests including Elton John, Tyler Perry, and James Corden.
It is assumed that Meghan will use the exposure as a tool to further her work towards civil and human rights, and in particular in her efforts related to female equality. Meghan is know for being highly active in her support of organisations ensuring female empowerment and liberation. To mark International Women’s Day on 8 March, the duke and duchess made sizable donations to four charities who are dedicating their resources to ensure a better life for women across the globe.
