While the role is likely to be a small one, it would still be an exciting opportunity for any budding actresses, keen to add to their CV. Previous thespians who have played the role include Lady Alice St Clair-Erksine, the daughter of the Earl and Countess of Rosslyn, who starred in the made-for-television film, William & Catherine: A Royal Romance.
Meanwhile, there is also a call for actors between the ages of 16 and 21 to play the young Prince William and Prince Harry: ‘Robert Sterne, Casting Director of the Netflix series The Crown, is searching for two exceptional young actors to play Prince William and Prince Harry in the next series. These are significant roles in this award-winning drama and we are looking for a strong physical resemblance.’
It also notes that ‘no previous professional acting experience’ is required and that shooting will commence in August.
The sixth season will likely feature storylines including the deaths of Princess Margaret and the Queen Mother, the rehabilitation of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles’s reputations (as well as their 2005 marriage) and also the party-boy ways of Prince Harry. It will see Imelda Staunton returning as the Queen, with Dominic West as Prince Charles. The fifth series is due to air on Netflix at the end of the year, and will focus on the 1990s, up to and including the tragic death of the late Diana, Princess of Wales, being played this time round by Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki.
