Netflix’s three-part documentary, jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy, is now released in its entirety. Spanning over five hours and made of nearly 267 hours of never-before-seen footage, the documentary gives the viewer an intimate look at Ye through his journey from producer to signed rapper and beyond as he navigates the balance between his personal life and extreme fame.
To commemorate the project, Netflix Shop dropped the final wave from the act iii Trilogy Collection. Designed by Chicago’s Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and jeen-yuh’s co-director Chike alongside Netflix Shop, the lastest series consists of typographically focused T-shirts, long sleeves, and hoodies that incorporate the titles of each episode: VISION, PURPOSE, and AWAKENING.
Narrated and shot by Coodie, jeen-yuhs captures an honest look at the high highs and low lows in Ye’s life through Simmon’s lo-fi camera, serving as a testament to the unwavering sense of faith surrounding Ye as an artist. In an interview with Netflix, Simmons adds of the experience, “I say that God writes and Jesus directs. The story’s already written… jeen-yuhs is not really a documentary — it’s life and a movie.”
