There have been plenty of unlikely friendships within celebrity circles over the years, and another one to add to that list is Russell Crowe and Lord Alan Sugar.
The business tycoon, who previously engaged in a Twitter row with Piers Morgan’s mum, was spotted playing a game of tennis in Australia with the award-winning actor.
The pair were joined by Alan’s wife Ann Simons and Russell’s girlfriend Britney Theriot as they spent some quality time together in Sydney.
Russell, 56, wore a black polo shirt with a pair of black shorts and some sunglasses on the top of his head.

The Apprentice star’s outing comes after he tragically lost both his brother and sister to coronavirus within weeks of one another.
The television personality took to Instagram in the early hours of 15 December to share the news that his brother Derek had passed away.
Alongside a picture of his sibling, he wrote: “My brother Derek died today another victim of covid which complicated his underlying health problems. [sic]
“He was a life long Spurs fan and my sister in law made me laugh in 1991 thanking me fdor buying Spurs for him. [sic]
“He will be sadly missed by the whole family. RIP BRO,” he concluded.
Alan shared a similar caption on Twitter, writing: “A sad day for us all in the family.”
Just two weeks later, the business magnate shared even more sad news after his eldest sister Shirley also passed away from the deadly virus.
Sharing a photo of her, he expressed on Instagram: “My sister Shirley died today at the age of 88 to join my brother Derek who passed 2 weeks ago. [sic]
“I guess another victim of covid. RIP SHIRL,” Lord Sugar captioned the post.
The author, who crowned Carina Lepore his business partner in 2019, was met with a wave of supportive messages from his followers.
One fan said: “Sending all my love to you and your family,” alongside a red heart emoji.
While another expressed: “She is a proud sister and will still be with you in spirit. Sorry for your loss of your brother and now your sister.”
A third person penned: “Very sorry for your loss! Sending thoughts and prayers!”
