“We try to use only the best, carefully sourced ingredients and combine them with innovative cooking methods. It has been said that Ciel Bleu played a vital part in the transformation of Amsterdam into the truly European culinary capital it is today, so for that, we are truly proud of our work.”


Salmuera is the traditional brine of salt and herbs used for seasoning grilled meats in Argentina, so this you a big clue to what the restaurant’s speciality is.

“The restaurant offers top quality Latin-American cuisine and an Argentinian BBQ, paying homage to the roots of owners and brothers Vincent and Thomas.

“The restaurant has a great vibe and is located in a beautiful historic building with two floors, a cosy courtyard, and Amsterdam’s first mezcaleria. Definitely don’t miss the mezcal and cocktails from bartender Martin!”


Restaurant Watergang opened in 2019 and has been a firm favourite since then. Run by chef Tim van Grootheest and maitre d’ Mo Schuttel, the beautiful living-room-style restaurant is right in the middle of the Weteringbuurt in Amsterdam.

“It offers seasonally-inspired, French-oriented cuisine with a monthly changing five-course menu and has a great wine selection too.”


“Literally meaning ‘ceviche’, this is another favourite Latin- American restaurant in the city. Sjefietshe serves amazing ceviche and other fresh fish dishes in a cool and modern venue right in the middle of De Pijp neighbourhood. It is affordable yet serves creative and tasty dishes, so it really gets in a fun, mixed crowd.

“Whether you want a full meal or just a homemade appetiser at the bar with some great beer and wines, Sjefietshe is a fun place to visit and spend the evening.”


Kaagman & Kortekaas is one on our favourites list when eating out in Amsterdam. The menu focuses on traditional flavours and seasonal produce to create dishes with sincere attention to detail. It is a subtle culinary feast with creative combinations to surprise guests at every turn.

Zoldering is a newish café that aims to channel all the nostalgia and atmosphere of an old Amsterdam café. Located on Utrechtsestraat 141, this cosy café/restaurant offers good food and thoughtful wine combinations.

“Zoldering is accessible but high quality, with both the chefs and front-of-house being experienced and offering great service.”

Super Lyan is a hotspot for Amsterdam citizens, and a great place to people watch. The casual cocktail bar has a beautiful 1950s interior and offers an innovative cocktail menu created by award-winning mixologist Mr Lyan.

Café de Pels is a true hotspot in Amsterdam. An institution for journalists, artists, intellectuals, Café de Pels has been the meeting place for over 50 years.

“With art on the wall, a traditional Amsterdam vibe and menu, Café de Pels is great for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even just to drink a nice beer with bitterballen.”
