The fashion etailer has launched a charity project featuring 20 female designers in a move to empower fellow women and help those in need.

Ahead of this year’s International Women’s Day, which lands on 8 March, Net-a-Porter has invited 20 iconic brands and female designers — a number that also signals the etailer’s 20th anniversary — to each design a charitable t-shirt that reflects their personal interpretations of women’s empowerment and strength.

These 20 female creatives and brands include Stella McCartney, Gabriela Hearst, AlexaChung, Isabel Marant, Amina Muaddi, Carine Roitfeld, Jimmy Choo, Rotate, Bernadette, Rosie Assoulin, Staud, The Attico, The Range, The Frankie Shop, Ganni, Nanushka, Charlotte Tilbury, Cecilie Bahnsen and Roxanne Assoulin. Meanwhile, the team at Net-a-Porter have also prepare a design of its own, which was realised by sustainable label Ninety Percent.

Women for women: Celebrities from Claire Danes to Kerry Washington and Nicole Kidman are already showing their support.

Empowering slogans such as Nanushka’s ‘May be femme be with you’ and The Range’s ‘I’ve got all my sisters with me’ can be found on most of these creations, reminding us that we are stronger when are together. Others, such as Bernadette’s, printed roses underneath an embroidered ‘Girls Bite Back’ to remind us of our beauty, femininity and fierceness. There are also phrases like The Frankie Shop’s ‘We need to talk’ and The Attico’s ‘Let your hair down’ that encourage us to be more confident with ourselves and join in the conversation.

100% of the proceeds of these t-shirts will be donated to Women for Women International, a charity that helps women survivors living in the most dangerous war-torn countries to rebuild their lives. Head to Net-a-Porter to support this meaningful project.
