Hello readers! You may already be aware that, as of this year, I’ve been getting into the habit of providing quarterly updates on some of latest news and developments from A Luxury Travel Blog. Here is our third instalment of the year.

Reviews

We are currently in Scotland working for a small hotel group, producing some first hand reviews of their accommodation and gastronomic offerings and, of course, writing some destination editorial to sit alongside. Soon after we return, we’ll be heading to a very remote property in Cumbria – by no means a luxurious property, but unique in terms of its setting within the Lakeland fells. Then, on our return from there, we’ll be taking a family trip to Iceland where again we will be working with a number of hotel partners as well as documenting some incredible experiences.

For anyone interested in having a professional travel writer and representative of A Luxury Travel Blog carry out first-hand reviews for destinations, DMOs, airlines, luxury hotels, resorts, vacation rentals and other accommodation providers, cruises, yachts, restaurants, attractions, tours, etc., please submit a request using this Google Form.

Best Upscale Tourism Blog

Last quarter I reported how A Luxury Travel Blog had been been shortlisted for a Travmedia Award again. I attended a black tie ceremony in London and, although I didn’t win my category (‘Influencer of the Year’) that time around, it was an honour to be shortlisted all the same. Since then, though, I’m pleased to report that A Luxury Travel Blog has been awarded the title of ‘Best Upscale Tourism Blog’ in this year’s UK Enterprise Awards. You can’t win them all, of course, but it’s nice to pick up one or two now and again!

A Luxury Travel Blog mailing list

As we do quite regularly, we’ve given our mailing list quite a severe ‘pruning’ recently. In instances where subscribers regularly don’t open our newsletters, we remove them from the list. This might seem a little harsh but there’s little point in us repeatedly mailing people who aren’t really interested in what we’re sending them. Plus, by keeping the list smaller and with a higher open rate, it probably enhances the chances of our emails going to recipients’ inboxes rather than their junk mailboxes.

If you are not already a subscriber to our mailing list but would like to be, please click here. There are different channels for luxury travellers, people working in the luxury travel industry and luxury retailers.

Arabian Travel Market

It feels like a while ago now, but our panel session on “How to work with influencers post-COVID” at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai seemed to go down well. The ATM event itself was a great success – the first conference I’ve been to since the pandemic that really made me feel that travel is back on the map.

I was honoured also, to be selected as a judge for exhibition stands at the events. There were some amazing stands, with SAUDIA scooping the award for Best Stand Design as well as the People’s Choice Award.
