It’s hardly a surprise Garrard looked to Kensington Palace as the location for this impossibly glitzy bash. After all, it has a rich history supplying jewellery to Queen Victoria, maintaining the upkeep of the Crown Jewels and creating Diana, Princess of Wales’s engagement ring (which was then given to Kate Middleton, the current Princess of Wales).
To celebrate the launch of their latest high jewellery line, ‘Couture’, the heritage jewellers summoned London’s most dazzling society faces to help them toast in sovereign style. Idina Moncreiffe joined Lady Clara Paget and the Hon Delphi Primrose in the King’s Drawing Room, curating a who’s who of the most gorgeous notables. Meanwhile, models Ella Richards and Georgia Palmer evoked effortless chic in monochrome ensembles paired with gleaming Garrard diamonds.
Glamorous guests weren’t short on things to do either. A string quartet composed of pink sequin gown-clad musicians played romantic renditions, the Hon Drummond Money-Coutts enticed the crowds with close-up magic, and lucky attendees were even allowed to try on historic royal tiaras – under the watchful eye of the palace security. Naturally, the champagne did flow as a sea of salt cod croquettes and beef ragu arancini, followed by lemon meringue desserts were proffered around the room.
It was a night of high jewellery and hijinks. Garrard knows how to throw a party.
