The attention to detail is exquisite: from the delightful Gucci gifts awaiting guests on arrival; to the virtual reality surprises hidden throughout the suite (make sure to look inside the wardrobe); the Gucci scented candles, fragrances and trinket bowls; and the veritable jungle of lush greenery and glorious bouquets, pervading the rooms with the scent of fresh flowers.

While fashion fans will be enraptured, there’s plenty to delight art aficionados, too. The art and antiquities in the suite have been carefully curated by Christie’s, meaning eagle-eyed guests may spot the likes of an early Lucian Freud drawing (yes, really) set atop the Gucci-embossed wallpaper.

The suite itself, however, is only part of the experience. Guests can expect private return transfers from London airports or stations; a bottle of Louis Roederer Cristal on ice on arrival; a VIP bespoke Gucci shopping experience, either within the comfort of the Royal Suite or in one of Gucci’s fabulous flagship London stores (with private Rolls Royce transfer, no less); a curated menu of Italian-inspired cocktails for an evening aperitif; then an indulgent breakfast the next morning, after a night of the utmost luxury.

Thanks to its prime location, The Savoy is the perfect base from which to revel in all that London has to offer. But guests would be remiss not to spend ample time exploring the delights of the hotel itself, home to some of the finest gastronomy in the capital: be it tea in the historic Thames Foyer – all the more magical this time of year thanks to the dazzling Christmas decorations; or dinner in the new River Restaurant by Gordon Ramsay (the masterful Dorset crab quiche, delicate roasted hake, and superlative sticky toffee pudding are not to be missed).

The bedroom

And of course, The Savoy is renowned for its faultless hospitality, a seamless union of warmth and efficiency. Royal Suite guests are treated to their own dedicated butler (the wonderful Christophe, for example, is as helpful as he is charming), and an extensive concierge service is on hand, to aid visitors with any requests.

Whether you’re planning a glamorous night at the cinema once House of Gucci hits screens, or craving the most fashionable of winter city breaks, there’s surely nowhere more stylish to stay than the Royal Suite by Gucci.
