Last week, the once-impossible occurred: Ye (née- Kanye West) and Drake were officially spotted together. Now for those in the know, you’d understand that this is a pretty significant milestone in the duo’s very complicated – and often tumultuous – relationship.

What was once an amicable friendship of sorts (back in 2009, the soon-to-be icon rappers often collaborated and credited each other for shaping their respective musical direction) turned pretty sour pretty quickly, with a tirade of jabs and digs taken at any chance the two had in the subsequent years. Perhaps a case of inflated egos, there was never one specific moment that sparked the feud, but rather a case of many.

Though their long-standing feud has often been one of the focal narratives in hip-hop culture of the last decade, it comes as a massive surprise that the two were able to (finally) sort their beef.

Cut to the present day,  the rap titans were seen to be enjoying each other’s company once again at Drake’s house in Toronto. How do we know this? Well, there were a myriad of Instagram posts and stories posted across Ye and Drake’s accounts to support the fact. Orchestrated by hip-hop mogul and music promoter J. Prince, the calling to the end of their feud was also made official on the popular podcast, Drink Champs, where Ye addressed the issues the two had (the operative word being ‘had’).

Now, for the first time since 2017 – ‘Glow’ being the last time the two collaborated – Ye and Drizzy will perform together at the Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert at the Coliseum in Los Angeles on December 9th.

In a press statement released to the public, the historic event will mark Ye’s first headlining live stadium performance in five years and also adds Drake as a special guest.

“I believe this event will not only bring awareness to our cause but prove to people everywhere how much we can accomplish when we lay our pride aside and come together,” said Kanye West.

Who knows, perhaps we’ll finally get to witness that scrapped Calabasas collaboration album?

What are your thoughts on the rapper’s reunion? Will bygones be bygones? Can the two remain friends?
