During last night’s bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex opened up about their new life in California, sharing sweet details about their home life with one-year-old Archie Mountbatten-Windsor – who even made a cameo at the end of the programme.
When asked, he said he liked life in California, while the proud parents shared that Archie’s current favourite words include ‘hydrate’ and ‘drive safe’ – something he tells people when they leave the house.
Winfrey was also shown around ‘Archie’s Chick Inn’ coop by the dressed-down couple, where the family keep hens rescued from a factory farm, while a video of the family of three playing on a beach with their dogs was also shown.
Elsewhere in the two-hour interview, Meghan candidly confessed that she had suicidal thoughts, and alleged that the palace had refused to get her help. The Duchess said that their move to the US had been ‘greater than any fairytale you’ve ever read’.
She also shared that someone in the Royal Family had raised concerns over the darkness of Archie’s skin colour before he was born, and that he was denied a royal title.
Harry told Oprah that he was cut off from the Royal Family in January 2020, and that he was keen to repair the relationship he has with his brother, Prince William, and his father, Prince Charles.
