He was said to have been a “big comfort” to Gemma after her dad Alan, 73, was struck down by Covid-19 before Christmas.
According to The Sun, the pair are official again having grown closer and closer since November.
A friend reportedly told the publication: “James has supported Gemma through some tough times in these last few months and she’s doing the same with him with his battle with sobriety and his weight.
“They’re not shouting about it like they’ve done previously but they are inseparable right now and are properly an item again.
“They’re talking about their future together – marriage, kids, the lot.”
The source claims she hopes Arg is now a “changed man” – and they can make a proper go of it this time.
He pushed the boat out for Gemma when she turned 40 on Sunday.
But she was reportedly most impressed with his support after her dad Alan fell seriously ill over the festive period.
And the former Celebrity Big Brother star is said to have vowed to help him through his health battle.
Doctors have warned Arg his health will be in severe danger if he doesn’t lose weight.
He ballooned to 26 stone in lockdown and replaced his exercise plans with fizzy drinks and fast food.
James told The Sun : “I don’t want to die. An op is the only way I can lose weight.
“I see pictures of myself and it’s too upsetting. The other day I had to ask my manager to put my shoes on for me because I just couldn’t do it — my belly is too big. I can’t do up my own shoe laces.”
