The launch event held at Ms.Jigger, Kimpton Maa-Lai Hotel. A great collaboration between an internationally renown Belgian-born artist Christian Develter and 2 Thai top designers in Southeast Asia of Tube Gallery – Phisit Jongnarangsin and Saxit Pisalasupongs to create a new fashion line under the concept lies in arts, journey and fashion.

To reflect the liveliness of these 3 factors, various pictures drawn by Develter have been incorporated with lively graphic design typical of Tube Gallery.

Moreover, this collection includes a wide range of items for both men and women, for examples, beach trunk swimwear, kaftan, evening long and cocktail dresses etc. Saksit and Phisit, moreover, pay attention to the texture of materials, which must be comfortable for the summer to come. Therefore, linen, cotton and satin are chosen.

In the recent years, Christian Develter has lived in Siem Reap, Cambodia, and his studio has welcomed many travellers, artists, art collectors and designers from the world over. To reflect the true essence of his works, Tube Gallery team has also visited his studio for the fashion shooting of the collection.

“Develter x Tube Gallery Resort Wear 2020 is not a one-off collection but it is our new line. The items are designed to be taken and worn wherever you are, along the stonepaved alleys in Santorini, on the cruise in Capri or during the sunset cocktail in Koh Samui. That is, no matter of when and where your destinations would be, this collection is another “must-have items” which make you exclusive, Saxit said.

Another excitement coincides when Tube Gallery and Kimpton Maa-Lai Hotel have been recognized as one of “The Coolest Hotel x Artist Collabs Out This Year” by Travel and Leisure.

The wine paring special dinner created by Italian chef Danilo Aiassa and Fin – Fabulous is Needed, Thailand’s pioneering lifestyle specialist and purveyor of handcrafted boutique wines. Benjawan Wisootsat, Managing Director of fin had hand-picked wines from her artisan portfolio to not only match with the food but also the personalities of the art pieces by Christian Develter.

This very fine bubbles, nose of red fruits, currants, very pleasant and persistent aromas of vine, peach. In the mouth we find the framework of cabernet, blackcurrant fruit and quince. Distinguished wine, well balanced, racy, with fruit well set by harmonious tannins.

2018 Roero Arneis DOCG, Vietti, Piedmont, Italy (ORGANIC)

Varietal: Arneis  

Robert Parker: 90 points

Based on the Christian’s Chin series (Myanmar Chin tribe ladies with face tattoos) Chin is the minority Myanmar tribes.  The legend has it that when the Burmese king went to the region and he was so impressed by the women’s beauty that he kidnapped one to take as a bride.  Chin families began to tattoo their daughters to make sure that won’t b taken away.  However some believe that to have face tattoo will bring them to heaven. This minority heritage of Chin with tattoo culture is almost disappeared but has been magically reproduce with unique art of Christian Develter inspiring me to pick this mysterious wine “Roero Arneis from Vietti”.  Arneis has beautiful blossom and nice nose which attract the birds and insects from the valuable vineyard of Nebbiolo, the grape for expensive Barolo.  Arneis is hard to grow and almost disappeared after WWII.  1970, Vietti wants to remain the Arneis heritage and make it alive to be one of the signature white wines from Piedmont.

It’s aromatic nose of fresh floral, citrus, white peach, crisp wine reflecting the face of this lady that dreaming of something beautiful, the enjoyment of the dish and the wine.

The last Emperor Pu Yi : very Regal, outstanding

Vietti was found in 1800, for 4generations that have been producing reputable wines and their Barolos have gained top Barolo for many consecutive years. Robert Parker said he bought Vietti wines since 1971 and none of the vintage that disappoint him. Tre vigne are from 3 important sites to make this wine.  It’s elegant, ruby purple colour with cherry aromas and hints of sweet spice.  Well balance with good integration of oak, complex and long finish. Either you have fish or ravioli this will be your good companion with your dish.

Chin Series with butterfly reflecting the beauty of the nature surround her.  The concept of this pairing is contrast to balance, something like art piece to add colour to the dark colour of chocolate with the lovely, lively pink colour of 2018 Spätlese Rose, Kracher, Neusiedlersee, Burgenland, Austria.  100%merlot Fresh cherries and plums in the nose. On the palate peach, cherries and strawberries. Well integrated, discreet residual sweetness. Fresh mineral finish.
